Tesla Writes a New Chapter in the History of Fast Charging
Tesla is preparing to build the largest Supercharger in its history to transform long-distance charging.
Tesla is set to construct its biggest Supercharger to date at Eddie World in Yermo, California, according to our colleagues at Teslarati. With over 400 planned V4 charging stalls, this facility will far exceed the current record held by “Project Oasis” in Lost Hills, which has “only” 168 stalls.
The extension of the existing site, which currently has 22 limited V2 and V3 stalls at 150 kW, will take place in six phases. The first phase, scheduled for this year, will add 72 V4 stalls, with subsequent phases completing the network with several hundred next-generation charging points. Located on I-15 between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, this Supercharger targets a high flow of electric vehicles and addresses frequent congestion during peak traffic times on this strategic corridor.
Charging and Comfort Combined
Tesla is not just focusing on charging speed. The architectural plan includes commercial and dining spaces: a traditional restaurant of 940 square meters, a 400 square meter McDonald’s, a 350 square meter shop, and outdoor dining areas. The stalls are designed to accommodate Cybertrucks and larger vehicles, anticipating the rise of bigger electric vehicles.
