Skoda Superb hybrid

The iconic Skoda sedan steps up with a new 272-horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain.

At Skoda, electrification reaches a new performance level. The manufacturer from Mladá Boleslav has just unveiled the most dynamic version of its flagship range: the new 272 hp Skoda Superb plug-in hybrid. This launch confirms the brand’s strategy, as one in four Škoda Superbs sold in Europe is now an iV model (Plug-in Hybrid).

This new powertrain combines a 177 hp 1.5 TSI gasoline engine with a 116 hp electric motor. With a combined output of 272 hp and a torque of 400 Nm, this variant exceeds the 204 hp version thanks to advanced software optimization.

In terms of performance, the sedan boasts top-tier statistics:

  • 0 to 100 km/h: 7.1 seconds.
  • Top speed: 225 km/h.
  • Towing capacity: up to 2,000 kg.

Optimized range and charging

The 25.7 kWh high-voltage battery allows for intelligent energy management. While the weight remains unchanged, the efficiency of the charging is on point: charging from 10 to 80% takes approximately 26 minutes via a fast charging station (DC up to 50 kW). On alternating current (AC), the charging power reaches 11 kW.

Exclusively available on the Skoda Superb sedan, this 272 hp powertrain is reserved for the high-end Sportline and Laurin & Klement trims. To handle this surplus of power, the braking system has been reinforced with ventilated rear discs of 310 mm and a specific air channel cooling under the front bumper.
