Skoda Superb, the hybrid that might make you love electric vehicles

By increasing the electric range of the Skoda Superb iV to 136 km, Skoda makes it a perfect choice for those hesitant about fully electric vehicles.

Skoda launches the Superb Sedan iV in France, the fourth-generation plug-in hybrid version. This model combines a 1.5 TSI gasoline engine with 150 hp and a three-phase synchronous electric motor, offering a combined power of 204 hp. With a range of up to 136 km in WLTP mixed cycle and nearly 160 km in urban cycle, this sedan stands out for its versatility.

The 25.7 kWh high-voltage battery, located under the rear seats, allows a full charge in 2h30 on an AC station with an 11 kW charger. DC fast chargers enable a 10 to 80 % recharge in just 26 minutes. During driving, regenerative braking partially recharges the battery, increasing the Skoda’s energy efficiency.

In 100% electric “e-mode,” the electric motor develops 85 kW (116 hp) and 330 Nm of torque. This mode is ideal for daily commutes, while the three usual hybrid configurations at Skoda (E-mode, Hybrid, and Sport) allow drivers to adapt the driving to specific needs.

Despite the space occupied by the battery, the trunk remains spacious with 486 liters (1,635 liters with the rear seats folded down). The interior finishes have been redesigned to incorporate new “Smart Dials” touch controls, and second-generation Full Matrix LED headlights enhance visibility and safety.

Next-generation assistance and safety systems complement this offer, already available on the estate version Superb Combi and the Kodiaq SUV. Orders for the Superb Sedan iV are open, with deliveries expected in the second quarter of 2025. Priced from €53,020, this new plug-in hybrid variant is available in Selection, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement trims.
