Electra and DPD France Electrify the Last Mile
The logistics of the last mile is accelerating its transition to electric vehicles thanks to a rapidly expanding charging network.
The partnership between Electra and DPD France has taken a new step in the electrification of the last mile in France. Following a testing phase initiated in 2022, the two companies are now structuring a national system dedicated to electric delivery fleets and their subcontractors.
Today, more than 250 electric utility vehicles operated for DPD France utilize the Electra rapid charging network on a daily basis. By 2026, this partnership is expected to account for approximately 800,000 kWh consumed, over 2,500 charges per month, and 400 charging stations distributed near the 80 DPD France agencies throughout France. This deployment helps avoid up to 45 tons of CO₂ per year, directly contributing to the decarbonization of urban logistics.
A green response to the explosion of deliveries
The main challenge of this collaboration is operational: to ensure the continuity of electric delivery routes without the constraints of charging. For DPD France’s subcontractors, the availability of a rapid charging infrastructure outside depots has become essential to ensure timely deliveries, now without emissions.
The Electra network is now integrated into the daily organization of delivery routes. Vehicle downtime has been reduced, enhancing the overall efficiency of the last mile while supporting the energy transition.
