Volkswagen Multivan

Forty years after its first appearance, the Volkswagen Multivan continues to write its story successfully.

After five generations, this versatile model, a star among families, leisure enthusiasts, and professionals, remains an undisputed bestseller. The current version is even the best-selling of all time: in 2025, registrations soared by 31% to reach 38,700 units. A new evolution of the iconic model is now set to debut.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles today unveils a first glimpse of the new Multivan, which is set to launch in the second half of 2026. The evolution focuses primarily on the front of the vehicle, which has received a makeover while remaining true to the brand’s DNA. Directly inspired by the iconic Combi, the famous “Bulli,” the front design has been refined with elegance and modernity. The segmentation of the bumper and grille into two distinct parts is more pronounced, visually highlighting the width of the vehicle. The redesigned LED lights feature a sharper new light signature, adding a distinctly contemporary touch while perpetuating tradition.

The Multivan Takes Care of Its Appearance

The color palette has also been completely redesigned. For the first time, a matte finish will be offered, enhancing the premium and customizable nature of the Multivan. Among the new features, three two-tone shades make their debut, including the very elegant combination of “Candy White” in solid paint and “Grey Brown” in metallic paint, paying a beautiful tribute to the Combi’s legacy.

On the wheel side, Volkswagen has revamped the design of the 17 and 18-inch alloy wheels. The 19-inch “Halmstad” wheels, particularly favored by Combi fans, have also been slightly modified for an even more refined look.

These initial stylistic evolutions are just a taste. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles promises many other updates by the end of summer, particularly in the interior. The Multivan, which has always managed to combine versatility, comfort, and character, is thus projecting itself into the future without renouncing its rich heritage.
