Fast Recharge: Belib’ deploys “Hub” stations in Paris
This page is translated from the original post "Recharge Rapide : Belib’ déploie des stations “Hub” à Paris" in French.

After converting Autolib kiosks, Belib’ is tackling underground parking stations, with 50 kW fast charging stations.
The Autolib car-sharing service by Bolloré, launched in Paris in 2011, ended in 2018. Instead of dismantling all charging stations, the company Belib’, a subsidiary of TotalEnergies, has partially taken over the torch. It converted 270 former Bluecar parking spots into charging points for electric or hybrid vehicles.
Belib’ not only revived these charging points but also added many more. The network now claims to have 2,300 electric charging points to date. This allows “more than 26,000 users per month” to recharge their vehicles.
A small downside, these stations provide low power. With 7 kW, a recharge takes several hours. For example, a Dacia Spring (27 kWh) takes about 4 hours, a Peugeot e-208 electric (50 kWh) about 7 hours. Convenient when parked near your workplace, but not ideal for occasional use.

7 first fast charging points
Thus, TotalEnergies is deploying “Belib’ fast charging hubs” in underground parking lots. The Parisian network inaugurated the first on July 20 at the SAGS Lobau parking lot, in the 4th arrondissement. It features 7 charging points with a power of 50 kW, including one accessible for people with reduced mobility.
As a result, only a few dozen minutes are needed for a recharge. With a Renault ZOE, it takes 50 minutes to go from 10% to 80% battery. Expect over an hour for a Tesla Model 3 or Volkswagen ID.5 with approximately 75 kWh battery. For the larger batteries around 100 kWh, like on Mercedes EQS, BMW iX, or Ford Mustang Mach-E, it will take about 1h30.
What is the price for Belib’ Rapid Hub charging?
Belib’ charges significantly more than the slow 7 kW charging points. The Belib’ Hubs are priced at €4.80 per 15 minutes, or €19.2 per hour. After calculation, the cost per energy consumed is €0.384 per kWh. A subscription is available for €7 per year to lower the rate to €4.4 per minute, or €17.6/h, which equals €0.352 per kWh. Overall, a 10-80% recharge of a Fiat 500 electric (42 kWh) will cost €11.30, or €10.35 with a subscription.
The network will gradually expand, as it plans for about ten Belib’ Hubs by 2025. TotalEnergies has not specified the locations of future fast charging stations.
