DS 4: New Trim Level and Increased Electric Range
This page is translated from the original post "DS 4 : nouvelle finition et plus d’autonomie électrique" in French.

DS Automobiles is already updating the DS 4, less than a year and a half after its launch.
Just a few days after introducing the restyled version of the DS 3, DS Automobiles announces new features for the DS 4. The plug-in hybrid hatchback’s range is expanding with the addition of a new Opéra trim. It also gains a few more kilometers of range thanks to an improved battery software.
The DS 4 Opéra is positioned as a new high-end version of the vehicle. It features adaptive suspension, a sunroof, a wireless charger, and brown Nappa leather upholstery. Heated, massaging, and ventilated front seats are also included as standard.
The semi-autonomous driving system remains, however, a paid option. After a software update, it now includes semi-automatic lane changing. DS also states that it has improved hand detection on the steering wheel, via “a ring embedded around the entire rim”.
The introduction of this new trim level is accompanied by other changes in the lineup. The two non-hybrid petrol engines, 180 and 225 horsepower, are discontinued. The two entry-level trims, Bastille and Bastille +, are merged into a single Bastille trim. The DS 4 Line and Performance Line versions undergo slight cosmetic updates, with external badges now in black and textured black door protections.
DS further increases the prices of the DS 4
Regarding technical specs, the only change worth noting is a 12% improvement in the range of the plug-in hybrid version. The combined WLTP cycle range is now announced at 62 km, up from 55 km.
The changes in the lineup lead to a further price increase. The plug-in hybrid version now starts at €41,100 in the basic configuration. At launch, it was priced at €38,200.
