Is Elon Musk serious when he says that the Tesla Roadster will have mini rockets?

Caught in a relentless pursuit to keep himself and his ventures in the spotlight, Elon Musk promises a Tesla Roadster equipped with rockets…

“It won’t really be a car“. The bombshell is dropped. During a radio interview on the Don Lemon Show in the United States, where he discussed X (formerly Twitter), Donald Trump, presidential elections, video games, drug consumption, the great replacement theory, content censorship, diversity, inclusion, and equity for LGBT+ rights, Elon Musk still found time to talk about the upcoming Tesla Roadster…

The Tesla Roadster is a mythical creature, a project announced in 2017, promised for 2020… and still absent. Not much is known about this electric car which Elon Musk claims will achieve 0 to 100 km/h in 1 second. The South African businessman assures that the wait is almost over and that the unveiling of the final model will occur in 2024 for commercialization in 2025.

Making More Noise than the Cybertruck

Musk added: “It (the Tesla Roadster. Ed.) will contain rocket technology. I think the only way to create something cooler than the Cybertruck is to combine Tesla and SpaceX technologies to create something that isn’t even really a car. […] Something that has never existed before“.

When asked if the Tesla Roadster would still have a steering wheel, Musk specified that it would utilize the famous Yoke steering wheel, which is flat at the top and bottom “like an airplane“.

Ultimately, with what could be noisy compressed air thrusters that are not very pedestrian-friendly or accommodating to other road users, all these wild ideas may be shot down by the authorities.

As for the mission to make environmentally friendly cars that are both lightweight and efficient, Tesla seems to care little about that now. The show must go on!
