Fancy a hybrid Jeep? That’s perfect because the American manufacturer unveils two special editions called Upland and High Altitude, based on the Compass and Renegade 4xe.

Are Jeep Compass and Renegade reaching the end of their lifecycle? Clearly, the imminent arrival of the 100% electric Jeep Avenger shouldn’t do them any favors, but these two models have the particularity of being available with plug-in hybrid engines, making them more versatile for everyday use.

It must be said that Jeep has accelerated its transformation. Aware that large-displacement engines no longer had much future in Europe, the American manufacturer has heavily invested in technical partnerships with Italian Fiat and now offers small engines with mild hybridization, traditional plug-in hybrids, and now electric models.

High Altitude Special Edition

Under the hood of these versions, the small 130 hp e-Hybrid unit paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. These models are based on the Limited trim level and are distinguished by a black grille (gray for the Renegade), body-color side skirts, 19-inch glossy black wheels, LED lights, and tinted rear windows.

The equipment list includes the Visibility Plus Pack (front/rear parking assistance, reversing camera, automatic high/low beam switching, photochromic interior mirror, Park Assist), the Comfort Pack (keyless entry and start, electrically folding exterior mirrors, blind spot monitoring and rear presence detection, front floor mats), and GPS.

Regarding pricing, the total goes up to €32,990 for the Jeep Renegade High Altitude and €39,990 for the Jeep Compass High Altitude.

Upland 4xe Special Edition

These versions are based on Jeep’s “adventure” trims, the Trailhawk finishes. Off-road capability shouldn’t scare them, with standard all-season tires (M+S) mounted on specific wheels. The bumpers are also redesigned to improve approach and departure angles.

The equipment level is impressive, featuring full LED headlights, tinted windows and rear windshield, washable seats… Perfect for tackling rough terrains without worrying about messing up your pretty ride. To better respect the environment, these models also feature the 4xe plug-in hybrid block with 240 hp. It is paired with an 11.4 kWh battery and theoretically enables about fifty kilometers of all-electric driving. The transmission here is a 6-speed automatic.

Prices are known: €41,990 for the Jeep Renegade Upland and €47,490 for the Jeep Compass Upland.
