The Kia Sorento gets a facelift

The Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid, available in 5 or 7-seat configurations, undergoes a profound facelift.

The Kia Sorento features a significant exterior redesign that gives this new model a commanding presence both on the road and off-road. The SUV adopts the brand’s new design philosophy “Opposites United,” which gives it the look of a smaller EV9. Fully overhauled, the front bumper now extends lower to convey a sense of robustness and reliability. It is complemented by an expanded skid plate, redesigned fog lights, and a vertical air intake molding. The exclusive vertical headlight design completes the new stylistic trademarks of the Korean brand.

The new Kia Sorento is offered with a palette of ten exterior colors, including three new shades: Volcanic Sand, Cosmic Grey, and Aventurine Green. The colors Celestial White, Nacre White, Ebony Black, Aluminum Grey, Sapphire Blue, Comet Grey, and Mineral Blue remain available.

Inside, the curved display panel and the 12.3-inch multifunction touchscreen highlight the thoroughly modern and high-tech character of the vehicle. As part of its enhancements, Kia has introduced a new Sage Green seat upholstery made from high-quality synthetic material and recycled plastic (PET), which is offered as standard on the Active trim.

The Sorento Plug-in Hybrid is equipped with a 1.6-liter T-GDi petrol engine producing 160 hp, combined with a 66.9 kW (91 hp) electric motor and a 13.8 kWh battery. The powertrain delivers a combined output of 252 hp and comes with all-wheel drive as standard. The electric-only range reaches up to 57 km in mixed cycle and can go up to 70 km in urban cycle (WLTP). This limited but sufficient range is ideal for most daily commutes.

The Sorento Plug-in Hybrid starts at €54,490 and comes with Kia’s exclusive 7-year/150,000 km warranty as standard. Deliveries will begin in the second quarter of 2024.
