Less powerful, is the Cupra Terramar much cheaper?

Cupra unveils an intermediate version of its high-end SUV launched with prices as dynamic as its design.
The Cupra Terramar takes a sporty stance with an aggressive front hood that overlooks a gigantic two-level air intake that CUPRA assures is functional. One wonders just how much air the engine needs, but it is certain that it won’t lack for it. The sportiness comes from the rather sculpted body despite compact dimensions of 4,519 mm in length and 1,863 mm in width. At least, with a wheelbase of 2,681 mm and a constant roofline, habitability should benefit. The sliding rear bench seat, which allows for a trunk capacity of 600 liters, illustrates this point well.
The Terramar is available in three engine options covering two distinct technologies. The mild hybrid 48 V with the eTSI Hybrid petrol starting at 150 hp and the plug-in hybrid delivering between 204 and 272 horsepower. While the mild hybrid has little interest, the 272-horsepower plug-in hybrid is priced at nearly 60,000 euros, making it inaccessible for many. Therefore, we awaited (albeit with relative excitement) the prices for the intermediate model.
The eHybrid 204-horsepower variant is equipped with the new 1.5 TSI block, an electric motor, and a battery that offers a net capacity of 19.7 kWh. With this configuration, the CUPRA Terramar offers an all-electric range of over 100 km. The battery can be recharged at fast charging stations up to 50 kW or at home on 11 kW.
And its price? Well, a major disappointment with a starting price of 55,600 euros, which is only 4,200 euros less than the 272-horsepower model. Like the name Terramar that flirts between land and sea, this price is quite unrealistic.
