The electric Mercedes truck is in high demand, Simon Loos places one of the largest orders in Mercedes-Benz Trucks history

Mercedes is securing its position in electric truck production, and Simon Loos is asking for more. From 60 electric trucks, the service provider is expanding its fleet to 135. Nearly all are produced by the famous three-pointed star brand.

At the end of November at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Wörth, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will celebrate the start of series production of the eActros 600. This truck was awarded the title of International Truck of the Year 2025 in Hanover during the IAA Transportation (one of the world’s leading automotive trade shows).

A technological gem

The real advantage of this vehicle is its range, which continues to increase with improvements made by Mercedes. Wim Roks, fleet manager at Simon Loos, confirms: “The eActros 600 really changes the game. While we could previously safely plan 250 to 300 kilometers per trip with electric vehicles, we can now cover 500 kilometers with these vehicles.”

With intermediate recharges, to be performed during legally mandated break times, this total can far exceed 1000 kilometers. All this while carrying a load of up to 44 tons. And over the entire lifecycle of the vehicle, Mercedes anticipates an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to a diesel truck. As for driving comfort and driver safety, tests conducted over about 25,000 kilometers have confirmed that all indicators in these areas are also green.

This order does not go unnoticed in the field of agri-food transport. For Karin Rådström, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, these electric trucks are the future of road freight transport: “The eActros 600 represents the transformation of road freight transport towards CO2 neutrality […] This makes the transition to e-mobility even more attractive for fleet operators.”
