Renault Zoé hydrogène record

For three days, a somewhat special Renault Zoé demonstrated on the Albi circuit. Achieving a double record for range!

ARM Engineering, a Tarn-based company specializing in the development of less polluting fuels, has set a new autonomy record for a hydrogen-powered car. This achievement was made with a Renault Zoé equipped with a fuel cell.

More than 2,000 km on a single fill

On the Albi circuit in Tarn, ARM Engineering’s Zoé traveled 2055.68 km with one charge and a full tank of hydrogen, in front of a bailiff who validated the record. It greatly surpassed the previous world record for hydrogen car range, which was set by a Toyota Mirai (1360 km). According to ARM Engineering, their Renault Zoé also holds the record for electric car range. This was until recently held by the BMW Series 5 E39 from IT ASSET PARTNERS, which covered 1,608 km on a single charge.

A record achieved in 3 days

GH-3 is not limited to electric cars. “It is possible to adapt any gasoline-powered vehicle to G-H3 standards with some modifications to the engine and by installing a new electronic module that alters the injection parameters,” explains ARM Engineering on its website. According to Marc Lambec, the head of the Tarn company, converting an internal combustion engine to G-H3 results in an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions and a complete elimination of fine particulate emissions.
