Milence

The Milence operator inaugurates the first major electric corridor between Barcelona and Lyon, a significant breakthrough for decarbonized road transportation.

Milence, a joint venture between Daimler Truck, TRATON GROUP, and Volvo Group, has deployed three strategic charging hubs in Perpignan, Béziers, and Malataverne. These infrastructures connect the Iberian Peninsula to Central Europe over nearly 700 km, enhancing the adoption of electric trucks in Southern Europe. The Barcelona-Lyon route represents a key freight corridor in Europe. Part of the Mediterranean European trans-European transport network, it links Spain, France, and European markets.

Three strategic hubs

  • Perpignan: Located less than 40 km from the Spanish border, in a key industrial area for fruit and vegetable exports. This hub offers three CCS chargers powering six 400 kW stations.
  • Béziers: Situated near Narbonne, this site plays a central role in the logistics of the Occitanie region. It has four stations equipped with CCS chargers.
  • Malataverne: Located in the Rhône Valley, this hub connects Lyon, Marseille, and strategic routes to Italy and Spain. With eight stations powered by four ultra-high-performance chargers, it serves a dynamic industrial and logistics zone.

These hubs are being developed progressively to meet the increasing demand associated with fleet electrification. They include secure parking facilities and services for driver comfort.

Connecting Barcelona to Lyon, this corridor helps reduce CO₂ emissions and promotes sustainable logistics. Other hubs, such as the one under construction in Bagnolo San Vito, will complement this infrastructure.

Milence promises a fast and reliable charging experience, compatible with all trucks, and offers transparent payment options via charging cards or terminals. The basic rate is set at €0.399/kWh excluding VAT.
