Yuba Fastrack: this family bike parks vertically

Long-extended cargo bike, the Yuba Fastrack is a high-end compact model combining practicality with Shimano electric system.

A French-American company, Yuba specializes in cargo bikes, especially extended models. In 2022, they continue expanding their range with a new model, the Fastrack.

A Very Practical Extended Bike

The Yuba Fastrack is a compact cargo bike with 20-inch wheels. It has a long rear loading surface, as well as a small front rack. An accessory “Dual Rack System” features side panels in plastic. They offer 4 positions to hold certain objects, increase carrying surface, or serve as footrests for children. Yes, it is possible to bring one or two kids in the rear, with a maximum weight of 200 kg.

But the most practical feature is the rear trolley support. It allows moving the bike in narrow spaces, like in an elevator, especially given its weight of 34 kg. It can also be parked upright in an apartment or bike storage. In this way, the Fastrack mimics models like the Spicy Curry and the Kombi, other Yuba bikes.

The Fastrack is also an electric bike. The Shimano E7000 motor with 65 Nm provides pedal assistance, with a 500 Wh battery attached to the frame. The transmission uses a classic 10-speed derailleur, with Magura MT32 disc brakes.

What is the Price of the Yuba Fastrack

The launch price of the Yuba Fastrack is €4,500, excluding accessories. It bridges the gap between the more affordable Kombi E5 (€3,399 for electric) and the Spicy Curry starting at €4,999. This price does not include possible subsidies for purchasing a cargo bike, which can go up to €3,000. Competitors include models like Tern GSD, Moustache Lundi 20, Kiffy, and also Bicicapace E-Just.

Like all cargo bikes, this model offers numerous options: saddles, handlebar support, straps, front basket, or rain protection. For sport lovers, there are even mounts for skis and surfboards.
