Associated with the Dijon-based bike manufacturer Douze Cycles, Peugeot is selling an electric cargo bike with a price discounted by 1501 euros.
Douze Cycles is accumulating partnerships. After the Toyota cargo bikes with a nice red frame aiming to encourage urban artisans to ditch their vans for daily use, now it’s Peugeot Cycles’s turn to make a deal with the high-end French manufacturer. Based in Dijon (Côte d’Or), the firm is responsible for the brand’s electric longtail bike.
Unfortunately, competition in this sector has become extremely tough, and the first difficulties are emerging as the market becomes saturated. Despite thefts and replacements, the demand for this type of bike has decreased after the huge post-Covid wave. Furthermore, one must face the facts: Decathlon has slashed prices and customers are not foolish. They are no longer going to spend fortunes on a family bike. They believed it for a long time, somewhat treated as fools, but that era is over.
Today, European manufacturers, faced with tough Asian competition, are struggling. And the argument of reliability and finish is having a hard time gaining traction, except among the ultra bike enthusiasts.

Offered in two shades – khaki green or navy blue – the Peugeot e-Longtail sees its price drop from 5100 to 3599 euros. Additionally, if your taxable income is below 7000 euros, you can subtract another 2000 euros from the environmental bonus for cargo bikes, and up to 1500 euros if your reference income is equal to or less than 24,900 euros.
Peugeot accepts payments in 3 or 4 installments to soften the immediate financial impact. For the rest, it is strictly a Douze Cycles bike somewhat customized as it comes standard with double seating, rear cushions, footrests, and a luggage rack capable of supporting up to 80 kg.
As an option, you can add side bags, a front basket, and a lock directly mounted on the frame to secure the wheels.
