The Jeep Wrangler pays tribute to the legendary Willys

The 2025 model year of the Jeep Wrangler receives a new color, Military Green 1941, inspired by the military “olive drab” color.

This year, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, Jeep is launching a new color rich in meaning: Military Green 1941. This color takes inspiration from the 1941 Willys, developed in response to the U.S. Army’s request for a lightweight and versatile vehicle, capable of quickly transporting equipment and military personnel across any terrain. This vehicle made history by paving the way for freedom and gave birth to the Jeep legend. The Military Green 1941 color, with its deep and distinctive green, brings this heritage back to life today. An alliance between the past of a military-purpose vehicle and the present of the vehicle, now hybrid like any good SUV that wants to last, suits it particularly well. The powertrain of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid combines an electric motor and a 400-volt battery with a capacity of 17 kWh, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine and an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. This configuration maximizes the efficiency of the hybrid propulsion components and ties them to the proven transmission of the Wrangler.

The SUV retains the off-road capabilities that made its legend with solid Dana axles, a two-speed transfer case, and skid plates. It offers approach angles of 36.6°, departure angles of 31.8°, and a breakover angle of 21.4°. Its generous ground clearance of 253 mm still makes it a true adventurer, but now electrified.

The Wrangler is available in France starting at 81,700 euros, and this new Military Green 1941 outfit is priced at 1,500 euros.
