Škoda Presents Its New Superb

Next November, the Czech brand will unveil its new Superb. In the meantime, we’ve received some information.

90 years after the first model launch and over one million vehicles sold, Skoda announces the arrival of the fourth generation with a key innovation: mild-hybrid technology, as well as a rechargeable Superb among the lineup.

A Larger Vehicle

The new Superb will be significantly larger than its predecessor. Two trims will be available, the first being the Skoda Superb Limousine, measuring 4.912 meters in length, 1.849 meters in width, and 1.481 meters in height. The second model, the Skoda Superb Combi, has a length of 4.902 meters, a width of 1.849 meters, and a height of 1.482 meters. Regarding cargo capacity, 645 liters will be available in the limousine model, compared to 690 liters in the station wagon.

Inside the vehicle, a 12.9-inch screen is located at the front. The central console has a much more “sleek” style.

What Engines?

Two hybrid models are available in the new Superb lineup. This new generation is equipped with an automatic DSG transmission. The new plug-in hybrid model offers greater electric range. The battery has increased by 12.7 kWh to reach 25.7 kWh, with a “pure” electric range of 100 km. The hybrid version of the station wagon is powered by a 1.5 TSI engine producing 110 kW (150 hp). The maximum power output is 150 kW (204 hp).

The charging units have seen their capacities increase from 3.6 kW to 11 kW. The plug-in hybrid version also supports rapid charging via DC with a maximum power of 50 kW.

At this time, no prices have been announced, and the release date remains unknown.
