Renault Megane E-Tech 2024: Range Makes a Significant Leap!

Without trumpet or drum, Renault evolves its 2024 range of the Megane Electric, for the benefit of the customer and increased range.

Inflation? What inflation? Aside from that of range and equipment? Renault is strengthening its very aggressive electric policy with a welcome update of its very cute and successful Megane E-Tech. In 2024, the improvements are all the more pleasing as prices are either maintained or decreased depending on the versions.

Similar to Tesla, Renault seems to agree that streamlining its offer allows for industrial savings. Fewer choices, fewer options; these ultimately lead to savings for both manufacturer and customer. On board, the R-Link infotainment system has been modernized in design and speed.

Thus, the entry-level Balance version gains power, now reaching 130 hp. It is now only associated with the “small” 40 kWh battery, which allows up to 320 km for a price of 30,000 euros. This is very respectable for a comfortable and versatile vehicle for daily use.

Range has increased by 20 kilometers compared to the 2023 version thanks to better energy management, redesigned wheels, and more aerodynamic mirrors. Equipment is also more generous: new driver aids mandated by the European Union, as well as practical and comfort features such as rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, or standard automatic climate control.

Up to 30 km more range!

The Evolution version, the best-selling, sees its price drop by 1,000 euros compared to 2023 to better position it against the larger Scenic offered from 35,900 euros.

This trim naturally combines the 60 kWh battery with the same 130-horsepower motor. It is more than sufficient for daily use. The range increases by 10 km, now reaching 480 km. It is the most generous in this respect within the Renault Megane E-Tech lineup.

The Techno and Iconic versions feature the same 60 kWh battery paired with the 220-horsepower motor. This is the technical sheet that has evolved the most, with up to 30 km more in range!

Within this impressive lineup, one can only regret that AC charging remains fixed at 7 kW when the 22 kW option is very costly at 2,000 euros. Upgrading to series at 11 kW would have been excellent. Maybe in a future update?
