Indigo parking lots will host around forty stations, offering approximately 450 Electra fast-charging points for electric vehicles by 2023.

Fast-charging stations are no longer limited to rest areas and highway service zones. Due to time constraints and the desire to avoid hours of waiting, cities will offer quick recharge points. In this booming sector, Indigo and Electra are making progress.

40 stations upcoming in major cities

As a major player in parking facilities in France, Indigo has established a partnership with the company Electra. The latter is expanding its contracts after proving that its stations work perfectly. We have tested their first station in Aubervilliers, with a very positive experience and at an affordable price.

This partnership will enable the creation of about a “forty” stations in Indigo underground parking lots. They will be in Paris, of course, but also in other metropolitan areas like Bordeaux and Marseille, the company specifies. However, the exact locations have not yet been disclosed.

“More than just a recharge, we bring a clean technology and expert knowledge to provide a simple and reliable customer experience, all at an ultra-competitive price,” announces Aurélien De Meaux, CEO of Electra. “It targets both individuals and major users such as rental companies, taxis, and VTCs, who are massively moving toward electric mobility.”

How much will fast charging cost at Indigo?

In 2022, the initial phase will cover 10 parking lots with 225 spaces for electric vehicles. Then, in 2023, the number will increase to 40 locations and 450 spaces. For Indigo, the total number of charging points in France will reach 2,850 by the end of 2022, with a goal of reaching 8,000 by 2025.

The charging power, similar to one of Electra’s station models, will be up to 150 kW. This will enable a battery of about 75 kWh—such as a Tesla Model 3—to go from 30% to 80% charge in less than 30 minutes.

The price will be the same across stations. Electra maintains its station tariffs, with electricity supplied by ENGIE Solutions. Electric cars or vans will be billed at a flat rate of €0.44 per kWh. This is cheaper than other operators in Île-de-France such as Metropolis (€0.65/kWh) and TotalEnergies (€0.65/kWh, up to 190 kW).
