Soon a Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD?

On the diagram of the SUV Tesla Model Y Propulsion, a Long Range version with two-wheel drive could arrive in the coming months.

A customer interested in a new Tesla Model 3 is offered 3 choices: Propulsion, Long Range with all-wheel drive, or Performance (also all-wheel drive).

However, the prices are very far apart: 39,990 euros, 48,990 euros, and 55,990 euros, respectively. In all cases, no ecological bonus is possible. What seems to be a problem today in dealerships is the large gap between the Propulsion and Long Range versions. 9,000 euros, which hardly encourages opting for the model that currently offers the greatest range.

Up to 650 km of range?

On the recent commercial scheme of the Tesla Model Y Propulsion, now available in Long Range (600 km!) for only 2,000 euros more than the basic Propulsion version, the choice is quickly made! Customers are willing to make the additional financial effort for an SUV that regains the upper hand over the Renault Scenic.

But above all, the Model Y range today offers something for all tastes, needs, and budgets. Moreover, the Model Y, manufactured in Germany, is eligible for a 4,000 euro ecological bonus.

Tesla is therefore considering equipping its Propulsion version with the more generous battery from the Long Range all-wheel drive version. The other benefit would affect the range, which could jump to nearly 650 km. We know that the heavy four-wheel drive versions are less efficient than the simple Propulsion versions at Tesla.

And if we follow Tesla’s logic, this hypothetical Model 3 Long Range Propulsion could be priced around 41,990 euros, which would be a remarkable price to regain control of the electric market.
