The new generation plug-in hybrid Lynk & Co 01 stands out at first glance with a revised exterior design and new body colors. To complement the glossy black grille and new wheels of the same shade, this evolution receives a more diverse color palette, including Chrystal White, Onyx Black, and Mineral Green Metallic. While the black is an evolution of the already offered shade with small touches of blue, the white and green are the major newcomers. A huge drawback of the current model, the infotainment system now features HD display and has been refined to reduce response times and finally provide smooth access to all functions. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip is expected to improve overall performance and finally provide at least a pleasant experience.

We still have the issue of the car’s powertrain, which has also been updated even though it didn’t seem strictly necessary as the current Lynk & Co, thanks to its Volvo technical base, is a benchmark among plug-in hybrids. According to Lynk & Co, the 01 receives a new generation plug-in hybrid powertrain. It is supposed to improve not only power but also efficiency. With a combined power of 206 kW (276 hp) and a torque of 535 Nm, the car gains a mere 15 horsepower but nearly doubles its torque figures! Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell you how this is achievable since we have no other information… We want to see it in action, as the powertrain of the current model is already particularly lively and offers top-notch electric-thermal transitions.
So there are improvements in this new iteration of the 01, but still many questions remain. Knowing that the model is only announced for mid-2025, we will have to wait a little longer for the answers. However, it is certain that the announcement of this new model will do nothing to improve the daily life of the current 01, which has a tendency to disappear from our roads…
