Ford launches a hybrid version of its Ranger pickup
This page is translated from the original post "Ford lance une version hybride de son pick-up Ranger" in French.

Europe’s best-selling pick-up, the Ford Ranger, succumbs to the allure of electrification to better entice both individuals and professionals.
Ford has clearly understood that the major shift to electrification does not only pertain to urban cars and is opening a new plug-in hybrid pathway with the all-new Ford Ranger PHEV. The all-new plug-in hybrid powertrain combines the 2.3-liter Ford EcoBoost gasoline engine and its 10-speed automatic transmission with a 75 kW electric motor powered by an 11.8 kWh battery. With 279 hp, the PHEV version is more powerful than a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel Ranger, but more importantly, its torque of 690 Nm is the highest of all standard Rangers.

The battery charges in less than 4 hours, and the all-electric range exceeds 45 km. Just enough to not fear the circulation restrictions in city centers that are becoming widespread across Europe. And for rural use, that means burning less gasoline, leading to savings by the end of the year.
With this new hybrid version, drivers still have the ability to carry a payload of up to one ton, tow up to 3.5 tons, and navigate confidently off-road where the off-road capabilities are enhanced by the added torque from the electric motor, the latest e-4WD system, the dual-range gearbox, and the rear differential lock. Ford engineers have also revised the suspension tuning to provide a bit more comfort when venturing off the beaten path.

A feature that will please professionals, the Pro Power Onboard technology of the Ranger PHEV allows for powering high-consumption tools and equipment without the need for a generator. The standard system delivers 2.3 kW. This power can be increased to 6.9 kW optionally with 2 outlets of 3.45 kW each.
To celebrate the launch of this model, Ford offers a limited edition Stormtrak which includes:
- 18-inch alloy wheels, a honeycomb grille, and a specific decoration kit,
- Matrix LED headlights,
- The Flexible Rack modular storage system
- A 360-degree camera
- An exclusive Chill Grey or Agate Black body color
- An enriched interior with a Bang & Olufsen audio system featuring 10 speakers
The first deliveries are expected in spring 2025 at a price near 40,000 euros.
