Photos and prices of the new BMW X3

BMW is renewing its models at a breakneck pace. Today, it’s the turn of the X3, its successful versatile SUV.
The BMW X3 is a success story that has not wavered since its launch in 2003. By the time production of the current generation, presented in 2017, comes to an end, about 1.9 million vehicles of this model will have been produced. The fourth generation of the BMW X3 will be available for sale starting in October 2024.

But to last, one must know how to renew, and the changes are not limited to a small facelift. It’s even quite striking at first glance… BMW is again applying its new monolithic design direction, reminiscent of the glory days of Chris Bangle. While the surfaces are generous, they are quite hard. And what about that double kidney grille? A child would tell you that this BMW X3 really has big nostrils! The vehicle’s interior is equally surprising with a clean design dominated at the top by an impressive combination of screens featuring the BMW Curved Display and the BMW Interaction Bar. New light elements located in the center console and door trims allow for dynamic lighting effects available in 15 colors. One cannot accuse BMW of being lukewarm when renewing its best-seller! You either love it or you like it less, but it certainly makes an impression.

The new X3 is 34 millimeters longer than its predecessor at 4,755 millimeters, while the width has increased by 29 millimeters to reach 1,920 millimeters. Coupled with a height reduction of 25 millimeters to 1,660 millimeters and wider tracks, this results in a powerful look, though a bit of the elegance of previous generations is lost.

The engine range includes not only petrol and diesel engines but also a plug-in hybrid version that allows the new BMW X3 30e xDrive to achieve a maximum electric range of 90 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. This hybrid system consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine combined with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission. Together, they generate a combined system power of up to 220 kW/299 hp. All are standard equipped with the eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and BMW’s intelligent all-wheel drive technology, xDrive.
