A Big Promotion for the Survival of the Volkswagen Golf Plug-in Hybrid

A Volkswagen Golf is a model that is always difficult to criticize, except when it’s equipped with a diesel engine… The latest Golf is no exception, and the latest generation of the plug-in hybrid has set new benchmarks by allowing up to 144 km in the WLTP combined cycle in fully electric mode. However, for various reasons that are quite challenging to analyze, plug-in hybrids are not in favor at the moment. This is strange considering their engine allows for driving most of the time in 100% electric mode with nice savings on fuel costs. But before making those savings, you need to break the bank. In the case of the Golf, there was until now a difference of 19,000 euros between the base petrol version and the first plug-in hybrid, and 14,000 euros for the non-plug-in hybrid. So the German manufacturer has decided to make a small gesture. Previously available from 48,800 euros, the plug-in hybrid technology is becoming more accessible with a special series “VW Edition” that comes with a full standard equipment and a competitive price starting at 43,990 euros, with a total discount of 2,485 euros offered by Volkswagen.
