Honda opens the door to its first electric motorcycle

Honda, drawing on its immense experience in the world of motorcycles, has understood well that being electric is not enough to attract customers.
To convince a clientele as authentically motorcycle-oriented as that of Honda, it must also spark excitement. It is in this spirit that the Japanese brand is launching its very first series electric motorcycle, the Honda E-VO, with an irresistible café racer look.
For years, Honda has showcased numerous electric concepts without ever bringing them to market. But this time, it’s the real deal: the E-VO is here, real, beautiful, and ready to conquer the roads.
Unveiled for the first time in March through official documents, the E-VO, developed with the Chinese group Wuyang, is designed to deliver sensations worthy of a 125 cc thermal motorcycle, with a top speed of 120 km/h and instantly available torque thanks to its 15.3 kW (approximately 20 hp) motor. Two versions are offered: one with two batteries (4.1 kWh) and one with three batteries (6.2 kWh), allowing for up to 170 km of range.
Charging is straightforward: 2 hours and 30 minutes on a domestic outlet, or 90 minutes at a level 2 charging station. There is no DC fast charging, but it’s designed for everyday use and urban commuting.
The Honda E-VO also emphasizes technology. It features two 7-inch TFT screens: one for the dashboard and the other for navigation, music, tire pressure, and charge status. Depending on the version, there is one or two built-in cameras.
Available in black or off-white, the Honda E-VO is offered for its launch only in the Chinese market starting at 29,999 yuan, approximately 5,000 euros. A very attractive price for a motorcycle so well equipped.
With the E-VO, Honda proves that electric can be synonymous with style, pleasure, and innovation. Let’s hope for a quick arrival in Europe!
