Kymco i-Tuber, a Well-Designed Small Electric Cargo Vehicle

Kymco unveiled at the EICMA 2023 Show, held this week at Fiera di Milano, a charming little two-wheeled utility vehicle, the i-Tuber.

The last mile logistics, a major challenge for professionals, inspired Kymco to develop a versatile new electric model. Most manufacturers simply adapt consumer-oriented two-wheelers for professional needs. Naturally, many models often lack the robustness and power required to meet professionals’ expectations. Based on this observation, Kymco conceived the i-Tuber, a friendly small vehicle that combines environmental durability with versatile delivery capabilities.

The visible frame features innovative design and provides protection for essential components against impacts while minimizing the use of plastic parts for the bodywork. This design allows for more space for battery storage as well as increased cargo capacity. In the end, this results in a design with sharp angles that suggests an emphasis on efficiency at the expense of appearance. It’s not very harmonious, but since that’s not what’s expected of it, it’s actually rather reassuring.

What sets the i-Tuber apart is definitely its cargo capacity. With its twelve-inch wheels, two-up seat, reinforced frame, and sturdy rear rack, it is an ideal choice for delivery and sharing companies. In terms of performance, the i-Tuber is powered by a 2.5KW electric motor with a maximum power of 3.7kW. It is driven by two batteries, providing an announced range of 130 km, which would be a strong selling point as it easily meets various needs.
