The first hydrogen-powered motorcycle coming soon to the circuits?
This page is translated from the original post "La première moto à Hydrogène bientôt sur les circuits ?" in French.

The arrival of hydrogen technology could well revolutionize the motorcycle world, especially with this H2K that might make its first laps in 2023.
The Hyvolution Expo was held a few days ago at the Porte de Versailles (Paris) and showcased technological advances in the field of hydrogen. More than 350 exhibitors attended, including H2 Motronics, a subsidiary of the Texys Group, which has been betting since 2019 on the H2K project.
Behind this technical name lies the idea of “light hydrogen mobility,” expressed through a competitive motorcycle. Why competition? Because TEXYS was founded by Etienne Deméocq, a former electronics manager for the Ligier Formula 1 team, as well as Prost Grand Prix. Today, Texys operates in motorsports, but also in aeronautics and aerospace, and thus in MotoGP.
Building on this experience and convinced that hydrogen represents the future, H2 Motronics is working on a new generation racing motorcycle.

A true concentrate of technology
Technically, the H2K Moto relies on two hydrogen tanks of 350 bars, each with a capacity of 18 liters. The fuel cell provides a power of 68 kW (about 92 hp), and engineers managed to fit 4 battery packs between the front and rear of the bike, for a total capacity of 800 Wh. An achievement, especially since the regulation weight limit is 220 kg, a target that has not yet been reached.

According to H2K, the first hydrogen racing motorcycle could reach 230 km/h, but its range currently caps at 45 kilometers. Insufficient for a Grand Prix, but this is just the beginning. Moreover, H2 Motronics hopes to run its prototype on a circuit this year.
