During the great week of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, from June 12 to 16, a 2500 m2 village is dedicated to hydrogen.

Among the twenty exhibitors, France Hydrogen, committed to the deployment of this energy and technology, will inform attendees about the numerous training opportunities generated by this new energy solution.

The formula that together we go further, faster, and more sustainably often proves to be successful. Therefore, for France Hydrogen, it is essential to bring together all the initiatives and all the players in the ecosystem to successfully deploy it across the territory. Among the more than 460 members, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest contributes to promoting hydrogen through competition. By integrating this energy into the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship, the ACO knows it can rely on the remarkable research accelerator that is motor racing. The objective is clearly defined: to achieve a zero-emission competition and mobility, and to participate in the necessary energy transition.

At the heart of the great 24 Hours circuit

In the village, spectators will be able to discover hydrogen very concretely, including running H2 race prototypes and a mobile H2 station. They will become aware of the range of possibilities, opportunities for re-industrializing the territory, and the training and jobs initiated by the new uses of hydrogen.

Pierre Fillon, president of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest: “In Le Mans, we are proud to showcase today at the H2 village the concrete achievements in hydrogen: specifically, a mobile H2 station and several race prototypes that will indeed evolve on the grand circuit of the 24 Hours on Saturday, June 15, a few hours before the start of the 92nd edition. However, we must not forget training and the jobs that will be necessary for the deployment of this technology. We need to master this know-how. The work done in this regard by France Hydrogen is extremely valuable and essential in our hydrogen village.”

Philippe Boucly, president of France Hydrogen: “The 24 Hours of Le Mans represent a unique opportunity to showcase hydrogen in a very demanding context, that of competition! For 5 days, this public event will give visibility to hydrogen mobility, and more generally to the sector and its challenges in order to continue its deployment. The training offer and the development of skills are key factors that will contribute to creating jobs to re-industrialize the territory. We will be present in this regard in the village to inform spectators about the positive externalities, training, and associated jobs.”
