Electric charging: Leclerc even cheaper, Lidl surpassed again
Leclerc lowers the price of its electric charging to €0.17/kWh, surpassing Lidl. An attractive rate for motorists, with a few conditions to know before plugging in.
Another drop in supermarket parking! After offering electric charging at €0.19/kWh, Leclerc has reduced it to €0.17/kWh. This offer applies to standard charging at over 300 locations, accessible through the Charge E-lec app, with no subscription required. The network has displayed this new price since September 28.
The brand thus regains the advantage over Lidl, which offers €0.18/kWh through its free Lidl Plus app. For electric car drivers, this competition lowers the cost, especially when they cannot charge at home.
How much does electric charging cost at Leclerc?
For 40 kWh billed, the expense now reaches €6.80 at Leclerc, compared to €7.20 at Lidl. With Leclerc’s previous rate of €0.19/kWh, this same amount of energy cost €7.60: the drop represents 80 cents less per charge.
The difference with Lidl remains limited to 40 cents. At the rate of one identical charge per week, consistently choosing Leclerc would save €20.80 per year. A significant advantage, but not enough to justify long detours.
An attractive price, reserved for standard charging
Be careful not to confuse low prices with fast charging. These rates apply to alternating current chargers, up to 22 kW, and not to fast chargers. The actual power received also depends on the vehicle: a car limited to 7.4 or 11 kW will not be able to utilize the 22 kW advertised.
The goal is therefore to take advantage of shopping to regain autonomy, without extra travel. Before plugging in, check the rate of the chosen charging station and its availability in the app.
Leclerc wins the battle of displayed prices. For motorists, the best deal remains a well-placed charging station that is available and suited to their habits.
