B’TWIN Magic Bike: Decathlon Imagines the E-Bike of Tomorrow
This page is translated from the original post "B’TWIN Magic Bike : Decathlon imagine le VAE de demain" in French.

Just over four months after unveiling its first connected electric bike, Decathlon reveals another innovation: the Magic Bike.
You might look for it on the retailer’s website, but you won’t find it. The Magic Bike is not actually for sale. It is a concept providing potential insights into future electric bikes from Decathlon.
The Magic Bike is officially a B’TWIN product, Decathlon’s bike brand. Its creators aimed to make it safe, easy to use, and versatile.
Up to 90 km of range
The electricity is stored in small battery modules, each providing 30 km of range. Removable, they are placed inside the frame. Depending on the user’s needs, there can be one, two, or three modules. The maximum range thus reaches 90 km.
The electric motor of the Magic Bike is located underneath the frame, near the crankset. It transmits power to the rear wheel via a protected belt driven by a small casing. In compliance with legislation, the assistance operates up to 25 km/h.
The Magic Bike has only one brake lever. The distribution between the front and rear disc brakes is automatically managed (40% at the rear, 60% at the front).
The two supports at the ends of the frame allow for adding various accessories useful for everyday life (rear rack, small storage compartment, child seat, etc.). If not needed, they can be easily removed.
A wireless recognition system
Once deployed, the center stand locks to reduce the risk of theft. When ready to ride again, the Magic Bike automatically unlocks using the wireless recognition system connected to the smartphone. The lighting turns on and the small display integrated into the handlebar confirms that the Magic Bike is ready to go.
