Decathlon Magic Bike

Two years after its debut, Decathlon’s Magic Bike is no longer really a bike of the future. Luckily, it would make a perfect bike of tomorrow!

Don’t look for it on Decathlon’s brand new, sleek online store because you won’t find it. The Magic Bike is a concept launched in June 2022 by Decathlon and renewed in May 2023 to showcase potential features of their future electric bikes. But now, two years later, many of the innovations presented have become reality. So why not launch this model which received a particularly positive reception?

The Magic Bike is officially a Decathlon B’TWIN product. Its creators designed it to be safe, easy to use, and versatile. The electricity is stored in small battery modules, each offering 30 km of range. Removeable, they fit into the frame. There can be one, two, or three batteries, depending on the user’s needs. The maximum range thus reaches 90 km.

Well-integrated Mechanics

The Magic Bike’s electric motor is located under the frame, near the crankset. It transmits power to the rear wheel via a protected belt drive. In compliance with legislation, assistance works up to 25 km/h. The Magic Bike has only a brake handle. The distribution between the front and rear discs is automatic (40% at the rear, 60% at the front).

The real strength of this Decathlon model lies in the two supports at the ends of the frame. They allow the addition of various useful accessories such as racks, storage compartments, child seats, trailers, etc. If the user does not need them, they can be easily removed.

Wireless Recognition

Once deployed, the central kickstand locks in place to reduce the risk of theft. When it’s time to lift the handlebars, the Magic Bike unlocks automatically via a wireless recognition system linked to the smartphone. Turning on the lights and the animation on the small screen integrated into the handlebar confirms that the Magic Bike is ready to go.

You see, as presented, this bike is ready to hit the road. At a very Decathlon price, we bet it would be a success!
