Thule enters the baby seat market
The renowned Swedish high-end equipment manufacturer Thule is entering the automotive interior market with its first two car seat models.
Thule was founded in Sweden in 1942 and has since become a leading name in premium automotive equipment products. In addition to a range of outdoor luggage, the brand designs and manufactures roof racks, bike carriers, ski racks, and of course, rigid or soft roof boxes. Recently, it has expanded into products for children, often with an adventurous twist, offering items such as all-terrain strollers and bike seats.
Today, Thule is entering the car seat market with two “rear-facing” models based on ISOFIX. The manufacturer’s initial finding is that nearly half of all seats are improperly installed. By providing a simple and intuitive ISOFIX base, the company hopes to address this issue, notably by including an innovative system that warns parents when the seat is correctly positioned on the base via a light signal. Ergonomics has not been overlooked, with several reclining options, premium materials, a large headrest, a soft cover, and removable cushions to adjust the child’s seating position.

The base, which includes a versatile arm in addition to ISOFIX attachments, is priced at 289.95 euros. The Maple model, with a carrying handle and compatible with a stroller, suitable for children up to 13 kg, is available for 279.95 euros. To make adjustments as the baby grows, the Thule Elm seat features a rotating system. Parents will appreciate this. Approved up to 18 kg, it is priced at 429.95 euros. These are higher-end prices, but Thule’s expertise in safety is undoubtedly their strongest selling point.
