Did you know that AC is the oldest British car manufacturer still in operation, founded in 1901? The Weller brothers set up their workshop in West Norwood, London, and unveiled their first vehicle in 1903. But it was the Autocarrier, a commercial tricycle introduced in 1904, that marked their first success, giving rise to the iconic name AC.

Fast forward to 1953, and here comes the AC Ace, a small aluminum marvel designed by Eric George Gray. This model combined elegance, practicality, and performance, attracting racing enthusiasts and car lovers alike. Seeing that the chassis handled the base power well, its creators thought it would be fun to fit it with a Ford V8 engine and transform it into an AC Cobra. Today, the AC Cobra remains a symbol of exclusivity and craftsmanship, especially known for turning heads. Mobiwisy recently introduced the new electric version of the AC, showcasing that the brand also looks to the future.

The new feature? A high-performance 2.0-liter engine option for the 2026 models, alongside existing naturally aspirated and supercharged V8s. Lighter thanks to an aluminum chassis and carbon fiber components, these cars will deliver up to 390 horsepower. And for vintage driving enthusiasts, don’t worry: a six-speed manual gearbox remains available, with a dual-clutch option for those who prefer technology.
