LPG becomes automatic at Dacia

DAcia GPL Auto

For the first time, Dacia combines GPL engine and automatic transmission in its flagship models.

With the introduction of the new Eco-G 120 engine, Dacia takes an important step by combining for the first time a GPL engine with an automatic transmission. This development concerns the Dacia Sandero, Dacia Sandero Stepway, and Dacia Jogger, now offered with a three-cylinder 1.2-liter turbo engine developing 120 hp, up from 100 hp previously.

This new bi-fuel engine is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Designed to provide fast and smooth gear shifts, it is available across the entire range, complementing the six-speed manual transmission that is still offered. Another noteworthy innovation is the introduction of paddles behind the steering wheel, a first for the brand, allowing manual control of gear changes.

Dacia’s GPL Advantage

At the same time, Dacia enhances the range of its GPL models. The capacity of the fuel tanks has been increased, now reaching 49.6 liters on the Sandero and Sandero Stepway, and 48.8 liters on the Jogger, up from 40 liters previously. This increase translates to an approximately 20% gain in GPL mode.

Overall, the combined gasoline and GPL range significantly improves. It reaches up to 1,590 km for the Sandero, 1,480 km for the Stepway, and around 1,450 km for the Jogger. An improvement that strengthens the appeal of GPL technology, known for its controlled usage cost and reduced CO₂ emissions compared to conventional gasoline.
