The Aston Martin with James Bond gadgets in your garage!
SBX Car, the auction house of Supercar Blondie, is offering this week an Aston Martin DB5 Continuation Goldfinger Edition.
With the 2021 Aston Martin DB5 Continuation Goldfinger Edition, cinema magic meets automotive perfection. This model, conceived and designed by the late Sir David Brown, merges modern engineering with the iconic gadgets of James Bond. Inspired by the legendary 1960s model, produced in fewer than 900 units, this revised version brings to life the dreams of every 007 fan.
Just like in the film Goldfinger, the turn signals fold away to reveal fake machine guns, while the rotating license plates can be controlled remotely. Other iconic gadgets include a water spray system simulating an oil slick, a retractable bullet-resistant screen, a functional radar tracer, and the famous ” ejector” button hidden in the gear shift knob. Every detail reflects exceptional engineering and craftsmanship.
An Engineering and Craftsmanship Masterpiece
Produced by Aston Martin Works, the brand’s restoration division, this project required 4,500 hours of work. Using a state-of-the-art CT scanner, an original model was digitized to correct issues aged 55 years. Historic suppliers like ZF and Girling recreated authentic elements, including transmissions, brakes, and tires. The result is a perfect blend of modern technology and classic design.

Priced at £2.75 million before taxes at launch, this automotive work of art is reserved for the most discerning collectors. The model offered by SBX Cars has only 48 km on the odometer. Normal for a collectible vehicle, but a bit sad for an Aston Martin. The resurrected icon is dressed in Silver Birch and features a gray Connolly leather interior.

This vehicle is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six engine, developing 290 horsepower and paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Resulting from a collaboration with EON Productions and special effects expert Chris Corbould, this Aston Martin embodies the perfect fusion of fiction and reality. A true homage to the “most famous vehicle in the world”.
