ZEEKR MIX, the ultra-connected Chinese Volkswagen ID.Buzz

Chinese manufacturer ZEEKR, a brand of the Geely giant, has unveiled the final version of its large electric MPV MIX.

It may have less charm than its German rival the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, but the technology it conceals is far superior. And it is precisely on this point that the ZEEKR MIX aims to stand out.

Still, the first impression when seeing this new vehicle is the clear inspiration from the ID.Buzz. Bicolour paint, maximum concealment of the front end blending into the windshield, a wheelbase of 3008 mm, and a total length of 4688 mm, the ZEEKR MIX is excessively similar to the German van.

Even the weight is XXL depending on the battery size and equipment: 2639 or 2739 kg! The bride is well-weighted.

Innovative Doors

In terms of technology, a lidar device is located on the roof for autonomous driving. On board, the ZEEKR will adopt the attractive idea of two rows of 3 seats, including at the front. Travel, like a utility vehicle, will be more fun. As an option, a more traditional 5-passenger layout will be available.

To get inside, all the side doors will slide open, including the front right passenger door. It appears that the driver’s door will remain conventional.

Mechanically, the ZEEKR MIX would deliver 310 kW (421 horsepower) on the rear wheels and is equipped with a 100 kWh battery. For comparison, the very recent Volkswagen ID.Buzz GTX produces 340 horsepower and has an 86 kWh battery.
