When Electrification Becomes a Form of Art
The specialist Everrati has decided to push the excellence of its preparation based on the Mercedes “Pagoda” even further.
We recently introduced you to the Mercedes Pagoda electrified by Everatti. A new life for this car launched in 1963 and quickly became an automotive icon. But to electrify a car from the 1960s, you need what is commonly referred to as a “donor vehicle.” That is, a car with a healthy chassis and running gear to accommodate the new 100% electric powertrain. Rusted, damaged, or incomplete chassis, pass your turn. Reconstructing a car from new parts does not fit into Everatti’s philosophy, which is committed to preserving the authenticity of the models it projects into the 21st century. This also allows for a completely reversible vehicle, which can be returned to its classic period thermal configuration. Essential when you know that a well-maintained example can be worth over 200,000 euros, and its value continues to climb.

However, to reach such a level in the exceptional used market, a car must have an impeccable interior showing just the slight patina that testifies to its journey through the decades. A complete overhaul is an outrage to good taste, but a neglected interior is far worse, an unforgivable lack of taste.
Everrati and Hemmels united for the best
Wishing to focus on the mechanical part that it knows how to handle very well, Everatti has chosen to partner with Hemmels, a recognized specialist in the restoration of Mercedes-Benz SL, to create the most luxurious and technologically advanced fully electric Mercedes W113 SL “Pagode”.

Each restoration will include chassis preparation, paint finish and color selection, complete rechroming, a set of new glass, and either a restoration of the wood, leather, and other materials or a new hand-crafted interior if restoration proves impossible. The entire dashboard can also be updated with custom-designed gauges to display information specific to the new powertrain while maintaining an authentic appearance. It is also possible to add some modern conveniences such as a perfectly integrated high-end audio system controlled via Bluetooth, heated seats, and/or air conditioning. After all, one must learn to live with their time.
