Genesis GV90: 657 HP and Insane Luxury for the New Korean Electric Giant

Genesis GV90

With 657 hp, a 123.5 kWh battery, and an interior worthy of a luxury lounge, the Genesis GV90 becomes the new electric flagship of the Korean brand.

Genesis is clearly changing dimension. Unveiled in San Francisco, the Genesis GV90 is the first large flagship SUV from the premium brand of the Hyundai group. Derived from the spectacular Neolun concept presented in 2024, this new luxury electric SUV has particularly high ambitions: to position Genesis against the historical references of the ultra-high-end.

And to stand out, the GV90 goes big. Very big. With a length of 5.285 meters, a wheelbase of 3.245 meters, and wheels that can reach 24 inches, it boasts limousine-like dimensions. Its style remains understated, with lines inspired by traditional Korean moon jars. The GV90 Neolun version particularly adds impressive opposing doors without visible central pillars.

Up to 657 hp for the Genesis GV90

Under this imposing bodywork lies the new eMP electric platform reserved for the Genesis high-end. Its 123.5 kWh battery, the largest ever installed in an electric vehicle from Hyundai Motor Group, should allow for around 500 km of range, according to initial internal estimates. On a 350 kW fast charger, charging from 10% to 80% would take just 22 minutes.

The two electric motors produce up to 490 kW, or 657 hp, and 800 Nm. Two electronic differentials E-LSD, a multi-chamber air suspension, and four-wheel steering complete the technical specifications.

Inside, Genesis also puts on a grand show: a retractable 24.6-inch OLED screen, a 25-inch head-up display, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 25 speakers, massaging seats, and Gleo AI assistant. The front seats can even swivel 180 degrees when the vehicle is parked.

The Neolun Executive Suite four-seat variant takes the experience even further, with real wood flooring, radiant heating, a refrigerator, and integrated tables. With this GV90, Genesis is clearly no longer simply aiming to join luxury specialists: the Korean brand now seeks to challenge them on their own ground.
