The fastest-accelerating Škoda in history weighs 2.2 tons

Never before has a Skoda been so quick in the 0 to 100 km/h sprint. This achievement is courtesy of the new electric SUV Enyaq.
The magic with electric cars is that they continue to evolve throughout their lifespan. Software updates, battery chemistry improvements, electric motors with specs changed by subcontractors—these lead to immediate gains.
Thus, the evolution of the Skoda Enyaq vRS materializes this fall with an additional 41 horsepower, bringing its power to 340 horsepower. No small feat! At the same time, the range increases by 25 km, now reaching 547 km in mixed WLTP cycle for the Coupe version (540 km for the SUV). As a result, the Enyaq vRS “2024” achieves a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 5.5 seconds, making it the Skoda quickest to accelerate in the company’s history. And this despite its unladen weight of 2,202 kg.

Accelerating hard is fun, but it also prematurely drains the batteries. To address this issue, the Enyaq now features a faster charging capability, now set at 175 kW. In other words, a 10 to 80% charge can be completed in 28 minutes, 8 minutes less than before.
Unfortunately, the battery capacity remains unchanged at 77 kWh, suggesting that the “real” range will be around 350-400 km.
The price of this new version will be announced during October 2023. The current version starts at 64,300 euros.
