The electric Renault now at the price of gasoline

Not really up to date technologically, the Renault Twingo Electric is undergoing a significant price adjustment at dealerships.

Space needs to be made in Renault dealerships to accommodate all the new models. Scenic, Captur, Megane, Austral, soon R5, and… future Twingo. Thus, aging models that are no longer financially or technically relevant, like the Zoe and Twingo, are being gently pushed out.

This presents a great financial opportunity if you are not looking for a passion car, but simply an inexpensive means of transportation for your daily trips. And in this regard, electric vehicles are unbeatable today.

Mobiwisy has thus found this new example of the Renault Twingo Electric in the 2nd trim level, the Equilibre. Initially sold for 26,700 euros, the ecological bonus of 4,000 euros already brings its price down to 22,700 euros. However, the dealer adds an additional 5,068 euros, bringing it down to 17,632 euros. That’s just 632 euros more than the gasoline equivalent of the Twingo, which will, however, require refueling with gasoline at nearly 2 euros per liter.

Perfect for commuting?

At 10 euros for 100 km traveled in a gasoline Twingo, compared to 3.45 euros in electric mode, the delta at purchase will be compensated in less than 9,650 kilometers. There’s no comparison!

However, every coin has its flip side, and this electric Twingo is no exception. With its very limited 22 kW battery, it ensures less than 190 kilometers of autonomy under perfect conditions. Its charging can go up to 22 kW, so every stop will still be relatively short. But outside of daily routines with known mileage, the Renault Twingo Electric will have a hard time.
