Piqued by the fact that it does not appear in the TOP 20 electric vehicle sales in France, the Jaguar i-Pace receives a welcome facelift.

Jaguar aims to improve its position in the electric vehicle segment. Introduced in 2018 and already restyled in 2020, the SUV is further evolving this year. It must be said that its sales are somewhat uneven across certain markets, including France, where it does not appear in the TOP 20 of electric vehicle sales.

However, its performance is not lacking, as it develops no less than 400 hp and can reach 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. In terms of range, it claims 448 km in mixed cycle, but about 370 km in reality. The 90 kWh battery can regain 127 km of range in 15 minutes on 100 kW fast charging. On an 11 kW Wallbox, one can recover 53 km of range per hour, while a full charge takes 8.6 hours.

This remains reasonable compared to competitors. But it must be acknowledged that its starting price of €93,100 in R-DYNAMIC SE and €101,200 in R-DYNAMIC HSE is quite steep… And it does not qualify for any bonus.

Very timid updates

For the 2023 model year of the i-Pace, Jaguar has focused on a few areas to improve its flagship. Aesthetic changes are not revolutionary, with a slightly modified grille. A new logo also appears, along with a rear spoiler to assert the SUV’s style. The R-Dynamic SE version features the “Black Pack” which adds a Gloss Black finish to the grille, window surrounds, rear badges, and mirror caps.

On the technological front, the restyled Jaguar i-Pace comes with new software updates. The Pivi Pro multimedia system now offers wireless connectivity with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, along with Alexa voice control, Spotify music base, and a navigation system developed by what3words. Enough to make it a best-seller?
