Infiniti Unveils Breathtaking Concept Car

Eagles in full flight, sailboats, and sculptures. Infiniti designers cast a very wide net to create the electric Concept Vision Qe.

In 1989, Nissan and Toyota each launched a new Premium brand, respectively Infiniti and Lexus. Over the more than three decades since their beginnings, the brands have taken very different paths in terms of success, with Lexus proving much more popular than its Japanese rival. This year, Infiniti launches its “new dawn” with the unveiling of an extreme electric sedan concept called Vision Qe and the announcement of four upcoming models.

The Vision Qe concept reveals itself under the bold fastback sedan body. The large wheels feature a design meant to represent the tightly wound copper coils of the electric motor. The inner bands show narrow gold lines, while the outer parts have wider bands. Gold is also repeatedly referenced on the bodywork. The front end is undoubtedly the most interesting, with a very strong signature. It’s uncertain whether such an extreme design could ever be produced on a large scale, but there is a genuine desire to create, finally, a strong brand identity.

By 2030, Infiniti plans to electrify most of its lineup, but in the short term, the brand will launch four new models. One of them will be an electric sedan, and although it is heavily inspired by the Qe concept, it’s not impossible for the general public to get excited about Infiniti again, and for the brand to finally take flight, like an eagle, a sailboat… or anything else!
