Always more, never enough for the Audi RS e-tron GT performance
Audi launches its first 100% electric RS performance model. A new flagship in electric mobility that sets new standards.
Everything has been said and written about the Audi e-tron GT, but we never really managed to find a real flaw. Too expensive? Yes, of course, but we are evaluating this car in spheres where a price in the hundreds of thousands of euros is the norm. Too similar to the Porsche Taycan? With a common technical base, nothing surprising, but Audi has managed to make it a unique vehicle by giving it a true soul with the rings. Too powerful for a sedan, no matter how sporty? Apparently not enough… Thanks to advanced transmission systems and optimized thermal management, the RS Performance version reaches a power of 680 kW, or 925 hp.

Before diving under the hood, distinctive design elements for this Audi RS e-tron GT performance stand out. Where there is sport, there is carbon for lightness, especially on the upper parts such as the roof, to lower the center of gravity by a few precious millimeters. Other components may receive this coveted fiber for the first time and are available exclusively for this model. The customization list includes bumpers, side skirts, parts of the diffuser, and mirrors. The Audi RS e-tron GT performance comes standard with 20-inch wheels, but the manufacturer has planned five optional 21-inch models. A little luxury that the clientele is fond of.
Pursuit of Performance
In addition to a synchronous front motor with a power of 252 kW (342 hp), the RS Performance version features a new rear motor with a power of 415 kW (564 hp). Audi could have settled for slightly boosting the existing mechanics, but that would underestimate the wizards from Ingolstadt. With this new motor, Audi adds ten kilos to the rear axle. Both electric motors have power reserves that the driver can briefly utilize through a Launch Control mode that boosts power to 925 hp. A push-to-pass function also increases the power by 70 kW at speeds over 30 km/h for ten seconds. To ensure consistent performance of its GT, Audi has optimized the cooling circuit for the electric components with air conditioning activation if needed to regulate overheating during intensive use.

The Nickel, Cobalt, Manganese battery of 105 kWh has also been upgraded, resulting in increased energy capacity and higher charging and transmission currents compared to the previous model. The maximum charging power has been raised by 50 kW, reaching 320 kW. This allows the vehicle’s high-voltage battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes on a suitable high-power charger.

The Audi RS e-tron GT performance is available for order today in France at a price of 175,350 euros. The model complements the e-tron GT range alongside the Audi S e-tron GT at 128,250 euros and Audi RS e-tron GT at 162,400 euros.
