€7,000 discount on MGs!

According to our colleagues at Auto Infos, MG will offer discounts of up to 7000 euros on its models, which is more than the lost Bonus.

The trio of biggest losers was known long before the official publication date of eligible vehicles. And these are three best-sellers of 2023: the Dacia Spring, the Tesla Model 3, and MG4 from MG. Certain they do not meet the eligibility criteria, MG did not even submit a file as many other manufacturers did to participate in this aid scheme. This is also a way to make it clear that in China, no one is fooled by this measure meant to make local productions less desirable on the European market. In 2023, nearly 18% of electric cars sold this year originated from China.

The rules have therefore changed, but MG was quick to adapt. MG Motor is said to have decided to apply a reduction of 7000 euros on its electric and plug-in hybrid cars. That’s 3000 euros more than the 4000 euros promised for only electric vehicles eligible for the Eco Bonus.

“Since the decree is still not published, we have decided to reinforce our discount offer to 7000 euros on all EV and PHEV models in stock and deliverable until the end of March,” Julien Robert, sales and network director at MG Motor France, told Auto Infos. “The offer starts for open days and is valid until the end of January for order placements.”

The MG4 is currently (January 13) available on the MG website at 29,900 euros, unchanged in price. Applying such a discount would bring it down to 22,900 euros and less than 250 euros per month in leasing without a down payment! An astonishingly affordable level of price for such a car.

The price war seems to be well and truly reignited and, as expected, MG has sparked it. Good news for consumers!
