Voyah Passion S Chinese

The new Voyah Passion S symbolizes the potential of Chinese models produced directly in European factories.

Just ten years ago, European manufacturers looked at Chinese brands with a form of condescension. A few years later, this perspective clearly turned into concern! Today, the balance of power is shifting at a dizzying pace. And the latest symbol of this shift is called Voyah.

Voyah, a premium brand of the giant Dongfeng Motor, has just unveiled the first official images of the Passion S, an impressive electric SUV with a spectacular design and particularly ambitious technical specifications. With its length of 5.05 meters, a wheelbase of 3 meters, and a muscular coupe-SUV silhouette, the Passion S clearly targets the premium electric segment dominated by BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The model features an 800V architecture, includes a next-generation Huawei LiDAR, and develops up to 637 hp in its all-wheel-drive version.

The LFP batteries and embedded technologies primarily reflect the remarkable rise of Chinese manufacturers in the field of high-end electric vehicles.

The Chinese model has changed significantly

Once relegated to entry-level models, Chinese brands now display global ambitions with vehicles capable of technically competing with European and American benchmarks. But why does the Voyah Passion S deserve our attention?

If the Passion S attracts attention today, it’s not just for its performance or design. This SUV could particularly become one of the symbols of the new strategic rapprochement between Dongfeng and Stellantis. The two groups officially announced in May 2026 the signing of a memorandum of understanding aiming to create a European joint venture dedicated, among other things, to the distribution of Voyah models in Europe. But the project goes much further.

According to several industry sources, this alliance could also pave the way for the local production of Dongfeng vehicles in Stellantis’ European factories, particularly in France. This would enable the Chinese manufacturer to accelerate its establishment on the Old Continent while circumventing the European tariffs targeting vehicles imported from China.

For Stellantis, the interest is also evident: to make profitable industrial sites in Europe that are sometimes underutilized and to benefit from the Chinese technological lead in electric vehicles.
