The Stellantis site in Poissy is saved!
Stellantis is transforming its historic Poissy site with four new industrial activities.
Stellantis has announced the transformation of its historic site in Poissy (Yvelines) in order to implement four new industrial activities and to support the changing automotive industry. The investment, exceeding 100 million euros, aims to enhance the site’s competitiveness and secure around 1,000 manufacturing jobs by 2030.
Presented during a CSE by the site director, Éric Haan, this realignment is part of a strategy for industrial diversification. Vehicle production at the site will continue at least until the end of 2028, before a gradual ramp-up of the new activities.
Four pillars structure this transformation. The first concerns the production of automotive parts destined for new vehicles and after-sales, with the modernization of stamping, welding, painting, and assembly workshops.
Poissy adapts to survive
The second pillar focuses on the circular economy, with a dismantling and reconditioning activity for parts to be reintroduced to the market. The third axis involves the preparation and transformation of vehicles, particularly for special series, customer competitions, or the adaptation of utility vehicles for professional fleets. Finally, a 3D printing center will be established to produce small series of parts, support R&D, and create prototypes.
According to Stellantis, this evolution will optimize the use of industrial capacities and develop new skills. The company also emphasizes the implementation of training programs to support the evolution of jobs and promote internal mobility.

The human aspect is not overlooked, but there will obviously be consequences. The transition is expected to rely on a gradual management of the workforce, based on natural departures and volunteerism, in order to limit social disruptions. For Stellantis, the transformation of the Poissy site represents a response to the changes in the sector and a lever to maintain sustainable industrial activity in Île-de-France.
