Trident LS-1: It floats, it rolls, it flies!
This page is translated from the original post "Trident LS-1 : il flotte, il roule, il vole !" in French.

A vehicle capable of being just as comfortable on land as in water, that’s what the American company Poseidon AmphibWorks offers with its prototype Trident LS-1.
Who hasn’t dreamed of taking off during the busy holiday traffic, rather than enduring endless jams or navigating through the sea during the irregular queues along the beaches of Var in August? The answer is called Trident LS-1. Still in the concept car stage, it takes the form of an electric amphibious 3-wheeled model. Capable of accommodating up to 3 passengers (with a driver at the front and two in the back), it should, if approved, be able to drive on roads with GTI-level performance. Poseidon AmphibWorks announces about 0 to 100 km/h in around 5 seconds. It is even possible to tow it directly behind a camper van, without the need for a trailer.

A multi-purpose vehicle
For launching into the water, a new design would use retractable spacers for the front and rear hydrofoils. The Trident LS-1 would thus be driven directly onto a boat ramp. Once in the water, it can operate like an electric boat using its two electric motors. Once the water level is higher, it can transform into a hydroplane thanks to a second pair of electric thrusters. With its hull out of the water and a flight control system, it can reach speeds of up to 56 km/h!
Another feature of the Trident LS-1 is its ability to venture into the sea, even in rough swell, notably thanks to its wave-surging capability and its Fly by Wire steering system, for a “smooth” piloting experience.

Waiting for funding
Among the equipment planned by Poseidon AmphibWorks, there are smartphone chargers, 12V DC and 110V power supplies suitable for marine use… Thanks to the Over The Air feature, the Trident can also receive updates via the Internet.
Finally, if the Californian company manages to raise enough funds, the price could be set at approximately 97,000 €.
