The Hauts-de-Seine Department offers its middle school students an educational excursion on an eco-solar river shuttle.

On board an eco-solar river shuttle, middle school students from Hauts-de-Seine embarked on May 4, 5, and 7, 2026, for an experience that is both educational and immersive along the Seine. Organized by the Department, this initiative particularly targets eco-delegates to raise awareness about environmental issues related to the river and the preservation of water resources.

During this one-hour educational excursion, students navigate between Boulogne-Billancourt, Sèvres, and Issy-les-Moulineaux. It provides them with the opportunity to better understand the essential role of the Seine in the daily lives of residents, whether regarding biodiversity, sustainable mobility, or recreation. Young participants are also encouraged to discover the eco-friendly practices necessary to protect the river and minimize environmental impacts.

Pleasure and Education Along the Seine

Along the route, middle school students encounter several emblematic sites in the area, including La Seine Musicale and the departmental water sports park on Île de Monsieur, true showcases of the cultural and sporting dynamism of the Seine banks in Hauts-de-Seine.

Present during the first crossing organized on May 4, Josiane Fischer accompanied the students throughout this river discovery focused on environmental awareness and sustainable tourism.

The Department also reminds that this river shuttle is accessible to the general public every weekend in September. Free seats are also reserved for young people supported by Child Welfare services, allowing as many people as possible to enjoy this unique experience on the water.
