The price of the ZEEKR 007, the more advanced Chinese Model 3, is revealed

The premium brand of the Geely group is taking the offense with a sedan that is superior in every aspect to a Tesla Model 3 at 20% less cost.

From Europe, one doesn’t quite realize the ongoing technological war in China. Over there, electric cars are not a hypothesis but an imperial battleground to conquer the world. Investments are unlimited and heavily subsidized by the government.

The only foreign automaker still maintaining an illusion is Tesla. But to be completely honest, the Californian company still rides on its reputation in the electric sector, but local competition has already taken the lead. Both in terms of sales, price, and technology. Tesla is not keeping pace with innovations and launches. The catalog is limited to four models, with updates spaced every two to three years, while Chinese manufacturers are releasing new models daily. And this is no exaggeration. Between revealing a concept and putting it into production, no more than four months pass. Delivery times are incredibly shortened thanks to the magic of electricity.

And it works! Unveiled in September, the ZEEKR 007 is already in production, with a booking list of 51,000 reservations. This model is the archetype of anti-Tesla. An European or even Scandinavian identity, impeccable finishings, embedded technology that is literally more advanced (Laser Lidar radar, 12 HD cameras, 800-volt platform, etc.), and an unbeatable price.

An Impressive Charging System

Here we encounter the limits of the system: the ZEEKR 007 battery accepts so much charging power that no station can deliver it. On paper, the Chinese car can regain 500 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes! Two drive configurations are offered by default: 2WD or all-wheel drive, and then “small” (75 kWh) or “large” battery (100 kWh) in both cases.

The Propulsion variant benefits from a 310 kW (421 hp, compared to 300 hp for the Tesla Model 3) rear motor and an autonomy of 688 km according to Chinese standards. That’s about 550 km in the European WLTP cycle. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and its price is 209,900 yuan, or roughly 26,000 euros!

The large-battery Propulsion version (870 km, approximately 700 km WLTP) is priced at 259,900 yuan, or about 32,700 euros. Finally, the most advanced version, with the large battery and a maximum power of 645 hp transmitted to all four wheels, costs 299,900 yuan (about 37,800 euros). The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is then completed in 2.84 seconds.

It’s safe to say that with or without ecological bonus in France, Chinese cars like the ZEEKR 007 have a bright future ahead of them…
